Welcome to the Simple RTS! 

It's a minimalist real time strategy game. You can construct buildings and make vehicles of war. You decide where to put your focus.

Special features

  • 12 different maps
  • Destructible units and buildings. They can lose capabilities when damaged [not implemented for all unit types yet]
  • Units move along strictly defined paths
  • Collecting pieces of units gives you resources - spawn Collector from time to time
  • No micro management. Actually, NO MANAGEMENT WHATSOEVER. You decide what units and buildings to build. They do their jobs. 
    • The unit distribution will feel unfair, it's not a bug but a feature. That's what TRUE random feels like
  • An ABSOLUTELY DUMB large turret (aka the "big bertha") and a bit less dumb but still silly Collector unit. One day they will be fixed
  • Two different AIs. One is ok (the "balanced"). The other is between the big bertha and collector unit ("Aggressive"). Will be chosen randomly
  • "Graphics" and models were drawn on empty letter envelops, photoed with an old iPhone8 Plus and then combined into units. I cannot do digital art, srsly

Controls

  • Firmly but tenderly grab the mouse. Not the fluffy one, the computer mouse!  With the index finger tap the left mouse button. If you do it on an icon, a unit or building will be spawned. Good job, tutorial over!
  • For moving around the map hold the left mouse button
  • For zooming use a wheel (actually, this part I haven't tested well. On touchpad it's just moving with two fingers)

⚠️ It's a very early prototype

I am looking forward to your feedback and ideas. I am a bit lost in balance and where I want this game to move. And how to make it more interesting and repayable. Currently the roadmap looks like that:

  • Add more special maps where the map itself should shape strategy (ie take control points, protect city, destroy a base with lots of defences)
  • Add more possible ways to win - by buildings and units. Further specialise different paths
  • Add more cool units
  • Get depressed and abandon the game
  • Get back to it and fix the random to be more forgiving to the player as Sid Meyer advised in his book. Or make it a part of the game mechanics
  • Fix the damn collector and big bertha
  • Make optimisations to web build if it gets too laggy (in Unity editor it is sometimes too much if you spam units)
